South Shore Trail, Out and Back
Location: Burnaby Lake
Part 5 of our series – The best 5k training runs around Vancouver
This week we head out to Burnaby, BC! The City of Burnaby is right next door to Vancouver and Burnaby Lake is central to the area. There are many places to run, Burnaby Lake arguably one of the most popular. Trails circle the lake with a complete loop being in the neighbourhood of 10k.
The trail is accessible from multiple locations and it’s easy to run as far or as short as you wish. Our route is an out and back along the South Shore Trail beginning and ending at the parking lot on Roberts Street.
Run With A Buddy
The trail is located on marshy land around the lake and is surrounded by forest and high reeds. It can feel somewhat remote and is busier on weekends than on weekdays. Running with a buddy is a good idea.
